Our Plumage line is made in Italy by DHG using long staple, smooth fibers in the beautiful colors of nature's winged wonders. Made with blends of merino, silk, and viscose, Plumage will have a slight variation in color and texture throughout the roving with an approximate 4" staple length.
Plumage is created for the plumage technique of making feathers, but it can also be applied via fur or shingling techniques with a wool staple or addition. The colors can be further blended for an infinite array of plumage colors. On smaller sculptures, you can cut plumage in half to utilize as much as possible. Plumage is also a wonderful texture and shine addition to your wet felting and spinning, behaving much like silk.
Along with the Natural colors of our FUR line, you can create almost any color combo needed for your project.
King Fisher is a deep teal green.
