Sarafina Fiber Art Shipping Information and Policies

How will my items ship?
Items will be shipped using USPS first class or priority mail (or domestic UPS Ground if you choose that option). Shipping prices will need to be adjusted if you require expedited shipping.

When will my package ship?
Please allow 1-3 days for us to process your order.

What if I am shipping internationally?
IMPORTANT: International shipping is USPS First Class, unless your package weighs over 4 pounds (at which time Priority Mail is required) We have found that Priority is 3-5 times more expensive without a difference in the time. First class has no guaranteed tracking, so once we have shipped the package and it leaves the US, there is no control over the time, tracking, or location. Please be aware. If you want tracking and or confirmation please contact us. Typically an international orders takes 2-3 weeks to arrive, but can take well over 30 days. Also, we have no control of import, duty, customs, or taxes that your country might charge for your package. Please look into your local policies and possible costs before you order as every country and region differs in how they tax imported goods. We are required to declare the retail value of your order on your shipment.

How do I get an estimate of international shipping costs?

We ship internationally every day. We suggest creating a new customer account by going here: and clicking on "New Customers" Fill out your information, including the shipping address. You can then add any items you want to order to your shopping cart. The website will automatically calculate your shipping costs based on the weight of the items in your cart and the shipping location.

Why do I sometimes get a shipping refund?

At Sarafina Fiber Art, Inc. we keep track of all of our shipments in a log. The short story is that we never want you to overpay for shipping fees. Here is the longer story: We write down what the customer pays vs. what we pay in actual costs. The website is almost always spot-on as far as estimating shipping costs. Every once in a while we find that the customer has overpaid in shipping fees, particularly out to the west coast and internationally. The recent international rate increase has affected the shipping refunds, especially when a really light item is being shipped abroad. Anything 9 ounces or over, however, ships at a higher rate. When our envelopes or boxes average 3 to 5 ounces it is difficult to ship anything under 9 ounces. Our policy is to refund any difference over $5.
